Another weekend, and another batch of movies..
The Fast & The Furious 4 – F&F was decent, but still didn’t hold a candle to the original movie.. And for a car movie, there wasn’t much focus on the cars themselves.
Adventureland – Adventureland looked promising with a funny cast, but it ended up being a long-winded story that was short on laughs.
Miss March – Average at best – Silly humor, retarded storyline, and a shortage of T&A (especially for the “unrated” version)
I also made the mistake of watching that mess on NBC called Meteor. This was the biggest piece of garbage I’ve ever seen. ABC had a similar movie on a few weeks ago called Impact, and that was LIGHT YEARS ahead of this junk!
In these tough times, customer service is more important than ever! If you piss off your customer, he’ll never come back to you. Worse yet, he could post a video on YouTube, and watch it go truly viral – Destroying your good name in the process!
Check out this video. Here’s the story behind it:
In the spring of 2008, Sons of Maxwell were traveling to Nebraska for a one-week tour and my Taylor guitar was witnessed being thrown by United Airlines baggage handlers in Chicago. I discovered later that the $3500 guitar was severely damaged. They didnt deny the experience occurred but for nine months the various people I communicated with put the responsibility for dealing with the damage on everyone other than themselves and finally said they would do nothing to compensate me for my loss. So I promised the last person to finally say no to compensation (Ms. Irlweg) that I would write and produce three songs about my experience with United Airlines and make videos for each to be viewed online by anyone in the world.
I hate United, so this doesn’t change anything.. But I’m sure the bad publicity they’re getting from this isn’t helping things at all!
We had some downtime during the holiday weekend, so we picked up a few movies that we’d been meaning to see..
Gran Torino – Disgruntled Korean War vet Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) sets out to reform a young Hmong teenager who tried to steal Kowalski’s prized possession, his 1972 Ford Gran Torino. It deals with the deterioration of Detroit, and his attempt to take back the city from the gangs that have overrun it. A number of people told me to watch this movie, and with an 8.4 rating on IMDB, it was a no-brainer. It was a REALLY good movie!
Friday The 13th – Almost 20 years after the original movie came out, they’ve decided to reboot the series and freshen things up. Most times they try this, it ends up being a huge disappointment. But I really enjoyed the movie! It’s a solid storyline, told in an interesting sequence that totally caught me by surprise at the 20 minute mark. And there’s an abundance of eye candy, including a hot sex scene with Julianna Guill and her AMAZING tits!!
I won’t try to compare this movie to the original, as they’re catering to different audiences in different times. But a great way to introduce a new generation to Jason Voorhees and the terror that he brings with him.
Hung – Not a movie, but a new series on HBO. I caught a re-run last night, and decided to check it out after reading some good things about it on some forums last week. The basic premise is this simple – A guy down on his luck needs money in a hurry, but he’s got no skills. But he’s got a BIG DICK. So he becomes a gigalo. Sounds interesting, eh? I’ve got to give credit to the writers of this show, as they’ve really done a great job with this show! Even my wife (who was reluctant to watch it in the first place) enjoyed it, and we’ve got the TIVO set for the rest of the season!
Starting next Sunday, you can catch it after Entourage (the greatest show on TV).

I’ve had a Twitter account for quite some time now, but I wasn’t really using them to their full potential. I was using Twitterfeed to send my blog updates to my followers, and that was about it.
Now I’ve become more active on Twitter, and I’m baffled by the amount of spam on there! (Hookers, MLMs, etc) Some of it is pretty obvious, but others blend into the mix. And with URL shortening services, you’re never quite sure what you’re clicking on.
Here’s hoping that the folks at Twitter find a way to nip this in the butt, before it becomes a cesspool of spam!
It’s hard to believe that we’re already halfway through 2009.. I’ve been working on a huge project since March, and it’s eaten up 4 months of my life!
It’s been a turbulent year so far, with the stock market and housing market still in freefall, unemployment at record highs, and consumers cutting back on spending (which in turn is affecting businesses small and large alike)..
Our fearless leader hasn’t done much to stop the bleeding, and we can only hope that something changes in order to get this economy back on track, so we can all start making some money once again!
Here’s hoping..
