Are You Doing E-Mail Marketing?

For years now, I’ve been preaching about the benefits of marketing via e-mail. Yet it amazes me how many people still don’t take advantage of this great marketing medium!

Back in 2007, I made a post called The Money Is In The List. 6 months later, I made a follow-up post called Practice What You Preach, where I provided a case study of a targetted e-mail blast that went out to 122 people. One person made a purchase, and I made $110 commission on that single sale!

Now, I’ve got thousands of people on my e-mail list, but I segmented my list by region, and send these 122 people a VERY targetted offer that was relevant to them. If I had blasted all 5000 list members, I would have annoyed the 4800+ people and risked having a bunch of those people unsubscribe. (Or worse, flag the e-mail as spam, and affect my deliverability rates)
