Movie Prices Are Out Of Control!

Some friends of mine wanted to see Jackass 3D on Saturday, so we made plans to meet up at the local United Artist theater. When we got there, I was shocked to see that a ticket now cost $10.50! I just don’t get it.. In years past, we used to go to the movies and buy tickets for $4-5 with the student discount (which no one seems to do anymore).

2 tickets + 1 medium popcorn = $28!

To add insult to injury, the theatre wasn’t playing the movie in 3D! Had I known that beforehand, I wouldn’t have even bothered. 🙁

For that price, I could buy the DVD when it comes out, and still have money left over for a dinner at TGI Fridays or something. It’s freaking ridiculous!

I live in Ontario, and the price at my local cinema is $10.50 for an adult ticket ($14 if it’s in 3D), plus another $7 for the smallest popcorn they have. It’s getting to the point where I go to the cinema much less. It’s much cheaper to netflix an older movie and order a pizza
