Instagram FINALLY Adds Support For Scheduled Posts

One of the most frustrating things about Instagram is how they’ve walled off the platform, requiring you to post from your phone, with no way to schedule things ahead of time. Awhile back, I started using Hootsuite to compose posts on my PC, but it was still a tedious process, as per Instagram’s TOS, you still had to make the post from your phone. So Hootsuite would send the psot to your phone, which you’d then copy and past into the IG app.

Cumbersome, to say the least.

Not to mention, inconvenient, as you couldn’t queue up a month’s worth of posts and leave it be, as you can with Facebook and Twitter. But that’s all changing today!

Facebook recently made a post today in their Developer News group that talked about some changes to the Instagram API, namely that Instagram Business accounts would be able to schedule posts through 3rd party apps, with Hootsuite being the first app to support this.

I’ve been sitting on the sidelines with Instagram because of how tedious it was in this respect. But now with scheduling on the table, I’m all in. And that’s probably exactly what Zuck had in mind when he rolled out this “feature”. Well played sir..
